First, we explore some real applications that can be formulated as a PDE to solve the problem. Those applications cover from computer vision, Internet of things, speech recognition, to text mining and more. We also discuss the difference between problems that contain numerical values or non-numerical values (categorical values) and their solutions respectively if formulated as a PDE or others.
